Dolls by Julia Marden, Aquinnah Wampanoag
"Eninuog" (The People)
Meticulously handcrafted, these dolls represent the traditional dress
of the Wampanoag and other southern New England Native Peoples during the 1600's.
The clothing is of deerskin, decorated with painted designs.
Additional ornamentation consists of glass trade beads and various
other ornaments. Designs on the face and body of the dolls represent either painted
or tattooed designs. The dress and ornamentation is based upon the latest research
available.
